I've tried blogging for a long time, and failed each time. I did it for years, though always about a specific topic (iPod touch, iPhone, Apple, apps, etc.) a long, long time ago.
However, I've never tried *not blogging*, but still writing. So here's my goal: I have a few topics (or concepts, or Big Ideas, or whatever) that I think about whenever I have a few peaceful moments to myself. Some are technology. Some are what I do professionally (data stuff) -- some are adjacent to that. Others are about fatherhood, children, family. Others are totally unrelated to all of this.
These are all flowers that grow in the garden. Flowers have a cycle -- they are not fixed, stationary. These ideas, concepts, topics, whatever -- they can also change with time. I can update them. I can modify them. I can delete, replace, whatever them.
Could I do that with a traditional blog? Probably. Yes. But I like this theme, if nothing else.
Two other items to cover:
1. I don't expect anyone to read this. I don't intend to publicize it -- I have no social media anymore.
2. Part of this is an exercise to be a writer. I realized that "writers write" -- that's the defining characteristic of a writer. So if this does nothing else but gets me to write more, it's a success!
